    1. Why do they bother with signs that say "Observe Warning Signs - State Law"? If you're not observing the signs to begin with why would you pay attention to that one? (Contributed by Don F.)

    6. On the Coquihalla Highway through the Canadian Rockies there are numerous RunAway lanes for logging trucks in case their brakes fail. At the start of one of these RunAway lanes there is a fence with a Stop sign on it. If the logging truck has to use the RunAway lane because his brakes failed how is he supposed to stop?     19. What's with these traffic signs that read 'Maximum 50 When Posted'? How are they different from those that read 'Maximum 50'? Do they mean that if you see a traffic sign that reads 'Maximum 80' you can go 80 but if it's mounted on a post you can only go 50? (Contributed by Don F.)
    20. Why is it that distances to exit signs are mostly in 1/8th mile increments (ie. 3/8 or 3/4 mile to next exit) and most warning signs are in feet (2000 feet to low bridge) but odometers in cars are in 1/10th mile increments? (Contributed by Tony Vance)

    29. The freeway that I travel on everyday in Edmonton has several overpasses back-to-back. On the first overpass there is a sign that reads '4.9m' and on the very next overpass there is a sign that reads '5.3m'. Just what is the point of the second sign? If a vehicle clears the 4.9m height restriction then why would it need to be warned of a higher height restriction? (Contributed by Don F.)

    45. What’s with those signs that say, "Bridge maybe frozen ahead"? Does this mean that the bridge will move when its not frozen? And so what if it is?     55. Did you know that Quebec states its distinct society by its road work signs? Anywhere else in North America it’s written “Construction” which also means the same thing in French and is spelled the same way. In Quebec the signs say “Travaux”. (Contributed by Jean Catudal)
